Research Guides
The Learn How to Research guide is a great starting point for any research assignment.
Check out our Subject Guides for research information specific to your discipline.
Databases / Articles (academic, scholarly) and Interlibrary Loans
NWP Databases offer access to authoritative sources.
Interlibrary Loan allows you to request articles from other institutions for free.
The NEOS Library Catalogue lets you search for books, ebooks, and other physical materials in NWP's collection as well as those of the NEOS Library Consortium members.
Log into My Account to see what items you have put on hold, have already signed out, when they are due, and renew them if need be.
eBooks on a broad range of topics are also available.
Browzine allows you to browse subject-specific academic journals.
Publication Finder lets you search for specific periodical titles (e.g., magazines, newspapers, etc.).
Get another point of view in your research using streaming videos and/or DVDs. You can get to both through OneSearch or the NEOS Catalogue or you can view the A-Z database list of streaming video products. NOTE: Streaming video content is specific to each institution; it must show Northwestern Polytechnic - Internet for NWP students to access it.
OER/OA content is available right now and more resources are being added regularly.
Writing Your Paper - This online guide can help you get started on a writing assignment.
Citation Guides for the three formatting/citation styles used at NWP are available for easy reference.
