Newton's Third Law

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The action and reaction force both have the same magnitude but are opposite in direction.

These two forces act on different bodies.

Equilibrium$$\vec{\textbf{F}}_{A\,on\,B}=-\vec{\textbf{F}}_{B\,on\,A}$$

The pool cue provides the action force, \(\textbf{F}_{A\,on\,B}\), onto the eight ball which provides the reaction force, \(\textbf{F}_{B\,on\,A}\), back onto the pool cue.
