Solving Inequalities 

Inequalities can be solved by isolating the variable by applying basic operations such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication to both sides of the equation. 

 

Example 1):
Solve
Subtract 7 from both sides

Subtract 8x from both sides

Divide both sides by -9

 
Example 2):
Solve

Add 8 to both sides 

Add (5/8)x to both sides

Multiply both sides by 8/7
