Angles in Standard Position

Definition
An angle is in standard position if the initial point of its arm is at the origin and the angle between the arm and the positive x-axis is measured counterclockwise.

 

                                   

 

Acute Angle: An acute angle is an angle that measures less than 90 degrees.

                                   

 

Right Angle: An angle that is equal to 90 degrees.

                                    

 

Obtuse Angle: An obtuse angle is an angle that measures greater than 90 degrees.
