What is Interlibrary Loan?
- A way to request articles and books from other libraries. (FREE)
How do I make an ILL request
- Through the databases (Find It) button
- By filling out a request form in your Interlibrary Loan account.
When will my ILL requests arrive?
- Journal Articles can take up to 2 weeks to arrive. Once you receive your article, it is yours to keep.
- Books: Make sure the book is not available in another library in the NEOS catalogue. If it is, place a hold instead. Book requests through ILL usually take 1.5 - 2 weeks to arrive.
How will I know that my ILL requests have arrived?
- We will send an email to your GPRC email address.
NOTE: All Interlibrary Loan messages will come from the following email address: agpc@relaisill.com. Some email programs automatically filter this address, so check your junk mail folder periodically. You can also check the status of your requests by logging into your Interlibrary Loan account.
How long can I have my Interlibrary Loans?
- Books can be borrowed for 4 weeks. If you need them longer, please ask us about possible renewal.
- Articles given to you in print don't need to be returned, they are yours to keep.
What's the difference between a NEOS request and an Interlibrary Loan?
- NEOS requests are for items from the NEOS library system (i.e. University of Alberta, MacEwan University, Red Deer College, etc.)
- Interlibrary Loan books are coming from outside the NEOS library system.
You have your own Interlibrary Loan account where you can place and keep track of your article/book requests. When your article/book arrives at the GPRC Library or Fairview Campus Library, you will receive an email message at your GPRC email account. You can then pick up your article/book at the Circulation Desk.
